As of 2018, the ratio of profits from the insurance sector to India's GDP stood at around 0.04 percent. This was the same as in 2013, indicating a stand-still in the insurance sector. Overall, India’s corporate profit to GDP ratio dropped from 7.8 percent to three percent between 2008 and 2018.
