Share of capital goods sector profits to GDP 2003-2018
As of 2018, the ratio of profits from the capital goods sector to India's GDP stood at around 0.11 percent. This was a decrease from 2013, when the sector's contribution to the GDP stood at 0.17 percent. A slowdown in the country's economy was one of the factors in this drop of profits.
Overall, India’s corporate profit to GDP ratio dropped from 7.8 percent to three percent between 2008 and 2018.
