Share of cashless operations in Russia 2008-2021, by type
Since 2008, the share of financial transactions that were made without using cash in Russia has increased for operations with cards as well as for in the total volume of residents' expenses. In 2021, cashless payments accounted for 85 percent of card transactions. In the fourth quarter of 2019, cashless operations for the first time occupied a half of the total household spending.
