Share of deforested area in Russia 2020, by cause
Nearly 59 percent of total forest plantations destroyed in Russia in 2020 were swelled by forest fires. The second most common reason for deforestation was the harm caused by insect pests, which accounted for almost 30 percent of the total destroyed area.
