The money supply (M1) in Sweden jumped significantly from February 2020 when it was around 3.3 trillion Swedish kronor, to March 2020 when it was around 3.5 trillion Swedish kronor. The money supply continued to increase the following months, until July 2021 when it dropped from the previous month, down to around 4.2 trillion Swedish kronor. It was followed by a period of increasing money supply until the middle of August 2022, when money supply started to drop again. The money supply is the amount of monetary assets available in an economy. M1, called the "narrow money", includes currency in circulation (banknotes and coins) and overnight deposits. It depicts the value of the most liquid components of the money supply.
