In a 2023 survey conducted among Australians, the leading sustainable behavior adopted among respondents was reducing plastic use through, for example, using reusable coffee cups and shopping bags, with just over 55 percent of those surveyed engaging in this. Opting for energy efficient appliances and lighting was also a popular method among consumers to reduce their environmental impact, with almost 40 percent of respondents opting for these energy efficient products.
