The statistic shows the gross volume of diesel and alternate fuel sales in leading U.S. states in 2020. In California, about 3.1 billion gallons of diesel and alternate fuel were sold that year. The state ranked second behind Texas, which dwarfed all other states with sales of over 5.4 billion gallons.
