Health spending in the Dominican Republic as share of GDP 2010-2021
Spending on health represented five percent of the Dominican Republic's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2021. During the decade depicted, the Caribbean country allocated the equivalent of four to five percent of its GDP on healthcare spending. In comparison, that year Cuba's healthcare spending corresponded to 14 percent of its GDP, the highest value reported among Latin American and Caribbean countries.
