Houseplants in North America and Europe
Garden centers offer a broad range of houseplants, and according to a survey conducted in the United States and Canada in 2021, nearly all the independent garden centers surveyed offered succulents and foliage plants. Tropical plants, cacti, ferns, and flowering plants were also popular, while orchids were a bit harder to find.In Germany, flowering and green indoor plants together held a 17 percent share of the total flower and plant market revenue in 2021. The country's export value of indoor plants with blossoms or buds amounted to nearly 82 million euros in 2021, with green indoor plants registering a slightly lower export value at roughly 75 million euros that same year.
