In 2021, 43 percent of French private sector employees mentioned contract stability as a reason for joining their current company. This proportion was higher among women (46 percent) than among their male counterparts (41 percent). The second most frequently mentioned reason was the interest of the tasks and missions, and the third was the atmosphere among colleagues, which was more important for women than for men. Women were also more likely to have attached importance to workload and work-life balance.
