U.S. rate of union representation 2000-2023, by race
The rate of union representation in the United States has been on the decline since 2000 across all races and ethnicities. The Black and African American working population has maintained the highest rates of union membership, with 13.1 percent of the working population being represented by a union. The working Asian population saw a decrease in union representation from 9.2 to nine percent between 2022 and 2023.
