This statistic displays the prevalence of childhood obesity* in Germany from 1975 to 2016, by gender. Since the beginning of this time series, there has been a greater prevalence of childhood obesity among male children in Germany than among females. While male children were 23 percent more likely than female children to be classified as obese in 1975, this figure stood at 52 percent more likely as of 2016.
