Index expenditure per supermarket visit the Netherlands 2019, by supermarket revenue
An average supermarket customer in the Netherlands in 2019 spent roughly 17.84 euros every time he or she visited the supermarket. This was a slight increase in comparison to the previous year. Supermarkets with an average revenue of between 150,000 and 250,000 euros saw the largest increase in the average expenditure per supermarket visit, at nearly two percent. By comparison, the largest supermarkets, with an weekly revenue of over 250,000 euros, saw the average supermarket visit expenditure fall slightly.
