According to a survey among Chinese cinema audience, about 73 percent of respondents had also experience in purchasing online movies in various streaming platforms. Some 68 percent of the respondents accepted to pay up up to five yuan for online movie watching.

The survey was conducted among respondents who were:
52% male and 48% female.
36% under 25 years old and 64% aged 25 years and above.
19% from the first-tier cities, 47% lived in second-tier cities and 34% from third- and fourth-tier cities.

The gender, age ratio, and city distribution of the respondents simulated the overall distribution of cinema audiences.

Note: 1 yuan equals approximately 0.143 U.S. dollars and 0.127 euros (as of March 2020).
