Change rate of car sales in India FY 2017-2021, by body type
In financial year 2021, Utility Vehicles (UVs) gained around 20 percent of sales in India. The same year, the majority of cars sold in India were Hatchbacks, with a market share of about 43 percent. There was a continuous decrease in the market share during the surveyed period. Meanwhile, UV car sales saw a robust increase during the same time period.
