Median weeks worked among TV show writers-producers in the U.S. 2022, by job title
In the 2021-22 TV season, the average work period of TV show writers and producers working for streaming services was generally lower than that of employees for broadcast TV. Consulting producers, for example, worked on average 13 weeks per streaming series, while the amount was 35 weeks per broadcast TV show. The number of median weeks worked among showrunners in both the streaming and broadcast TV segment were quite similar, at over 40 weeks.
