Chile's spending on health represented nine percent of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
In 2022, total expenditure on health care in Chile amounted to 2,699.4 U.S. dollars per person, the highest among selected countries in Latin America. Costa Rica ranked second, with a health expenditure per capita of around 1,658 U.S. dollars, while in Mexico, approximately 1,181 U.S. dollars per person were spent for health care. That year,
