This statistic shows the percentage of adults in the U.S. who were current cigarette smokers as of 2016, by sexual orientation. In 2016, according to the survey, approximately 13.5 percent of straight females were smokers, compared to 17.9 percent of females that identified as gay, lesbian or bisexual.
