In the first half of 2023, social media and image sharing platform Pinterest received 139 user data requests from legal and government agencies in the United States. Pinterest requires a subpoena, court order, or search warrant before providing user information.

According to Pinterest, "To compel Pinterest to provide a user’s information, one must obtain a valid subpoena, court order or search warrant. To compel Pinterest to provide a user’s content, one must obtain a valid search warrant. One can’t compel Pinterest to provide any user information without a valid US court order."
