Instead, it is used to make consumer products such as packaging, tissue, diapers, various absorbent products, specialty papers, and more. International Paper, the largest pulp and paper company in the world, had a market pulp production capacity (in its North American operations) that amounted to nearly 3.5 million metric tons in 2018.
