Largest S&P 500 companies by market cap 2023
As of July 2023, tech giants Apple, Microsoft Alphabet (Google), Amazon, and Nvidia dominated the S&P 500 index and were the only five companies with a market capitalization exceeding one trillion U.S. dollars in the U.S.. After a brief period where Microsoft overtook Apple to become the largest company, Apple retook the lead with a market capitalization of nearly three trillion U.S. dollars.
