Countries part of the Eastern Neighborhood Policy of the European Commission and Central Asian countries were expected to see a 5.6-percent decrease in exports in 2022, negatively impacted by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Furthermore, the import trade flow was forecast to drop by 8.6 percent. Previously, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic had a drastic impact on international trade flows in the region in 2020.
