Number of Rai employees in Italy H1 2022, by category and type of contract
In the first half of 2022, Italy's national public broadcasting company Rai employed about 12.5 thousand people, of which 2.03 thousand (or 16 percent) were journalists hired on a permanent or fixed-term basis. Office workers, including general practitioners, added up to 7.76 thousand employees, or 62 percent of the total. Rai − Radiotelevisione Italiana S.p.A.'s revenue grew by seven percent in 2021.
