In 2023, video gaming industry M&A value amounted to 76.76 billion U.S. dollars across 152 transactions. This represents a 85 percent increase in value compared to the previous year. The closing of Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard for 68.7 billion U.S. dollars accounted for about 90 percent of the year's M&A value.
