This statistic shows the time taken to sell first book after signing with an agent among young adult authors in the United States as of September 2017. The data reveals that the majority of YA authors sold their first book within three months or less after signing with a literary agent, however for 2.8 percent of surveyed young adult authors it took two years or more to secure their first book sale after having pursued assistance from an agent.
