Crop production growth in Nigeria 2019-2023
In the second quarter of 2023, Nigeria's crop production grew by 1.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. During the selected period, the contribution of crop production to Nigeria's GDP experienced the highest increase in the fourth quarter of 2021. Agriculture contributes to a significant part of the country's GDP. It is a key activity for Nigeria's economy after oil. Nevertheless, agricultural activities provide a livelihood for many Nigerians, whereas the wealth generated by oil reaches a restricted share of people.
