This statistic depicts the total number of chord blood units (CBUs) shipped from U.S. cord blood banks (CBBs) for use in transplants by the total nucleated cell count (TNC) for each unit from 2002 to 2016. According to the data, of CBUs released for transplant (shipped), 57.4 percent had TNC values greater than 1.75. In general, the higher the TNC value, the more likely a CBU is to be successfully transplanted into a patient.
